In the ancient world our ancestors worshiped the Divine as both Feminine and Masculine. In The West, this practice has survived primarily thru the veneration of the Virgin Mary in whose honor many of the great cathedrals of the 12th and 13th centuries such as Notre Dame and Chartres were constructed. In India
, The Mother Worship tradition has, for millenia, continued unabated .
The Mother is worshiped there in many forms some very ancient some very
recent. Dena Blay-Stroba, OCDS, bridges the Catholic and Hindu traditions.
She is a Lay Carmelite spiritual director as well as an initiated
disciple of Swami Bhashyananda She is a Director of the Institute's
9 month World Wisdom Certification class. For the past tweny years
she has both studied and practiced devotion to the Universal Mother. |
