In a world subjected to the tensions and violence that are rooted in religious intolerance it is very important to know facts about other religions and know also the ethical and spiritual views shared by them. Perhaps our shared values can ease the tensions. Reverend Buttrey will present his own views on the extent to which Christian theology, practice and belie is compatible with other World Faith Traditions. The talk will give plenty of opportunity for contributions and discussion and dialouge with the congregation. Rev. Buttrey is a retired UCC minister ordained in the United Church of Christ which he served in that capacity for 39 years. He is a graduate of Miami University,1960 and Yale Divinity School, 1963. He is a grandfather and has been married for 46 years. He is active with Alliance for Cultural and Ethnic Harmony in Holland. At Noon, Rev Sacha Bier will conduct an Interfaith Worship service
incorporating prayer, meditation and readings from a variety of World
Wisdom Traditions. Jim Cooper will provide inspiring keyboard and percussive
music. An Interfaith Menora with candles representing many World Religions
will be lit as part of our service ALL ARE WELCOME!! |
