Michigan Peace Team (MPT), and was an anchor of the MPT Summer Gaza Team 2005.
Peter will discuss the Palestinian/Israeli conflict and his first-hand
experience while in Gaza for a month this summer, at the time of the Israeli
settler withdrawal. He will offer concrete recommendations on what
we can do to foster peace. Peter, a Catholic priest, has been a peacemaker
for 30 years. He is a co-founder of Michigan Peace Team, and is MPT's
Outreach Coordinator. He has been on peace teams in Bosnia, Haiti,
Chiapas (Mexico), and Palestine.
Michigan Peace Team supports an end to
violence in all forms by all parties in the conflict so that peace can take
root. This includes rejection of anti-Semitism. It includes ending the
Occupation of Palestinian lands by Israel.
