White Theology, White Reality and White Racism in A Multiracial Society

The issue of how Black Reality affects the personal and social life of Black Americans  in modern American society has been the subject of countless studies. But what Jim Perkinson does is to make visible the hitherto invisible [ to white folk] basis of this oppression-White Racism and White Supremacy hiding under the surface of everyday"equality".
  The tragedy of Katrina has brought the extreme consequences ofAmerica's racial and social inequality out from the shadows into the noonday sun. The entire world is watching our grim spectacle.
His recent book White Theology;Outing Supremacy in Modernity, has recieved rave reviews from the top black theologians in America.  A rare achievement for a white theologian.Perhaps unprecedented.
Jim uses a hip hop poetic style of delivery to convey to listeners  things that "sermonizing" cannot . or dare not tell. His next book, Shamanism , Racism and Hip Hop Culture is soon to be published.
Mr Perkinson teaches Religion, Philosophy and Ethics at MaryGrove college in Detroit and at Denver University in Denver, Colorado  Part of the presentation on Sunday will feature a book reading and signing.
 On Sunday evening, Perkinson accompanied by jazz musician Jim Cooper ,will do a poetry slam at Uncommon Grounds in Saugatuck.
