  Muhammad Icklas  was born into a Jewish  family in New York but  discovered that Islamic Sufism as a spiritual path was most suitable  for him.
 Sufism has been the mystical practice of Islam since the beginning of the religion .
   One of its early[AD 801] saints was the Iraqi woman, Rabi'a of Basra who stated;
    " Oh lord, if I worship you out of fear of hell, burn me in hell. If I worship you out of hope for paradise
      forbid it to me. And if I worship you for your own sake , do not deprive me of your eternal beauty"
      Saint Mahmud Shabistari said;
       " In God there is no duality. In that Presence "I" and "we" and "you" do not exist. "I" ,"you","we' and "He" become One...Since in the Unity
       there is no distinction, the Quest and the Way and the Seeker become One"

    At 2pm,  Muhammad will lead the Zykr which is  chanting and meditation on the Non Dual One.
                                                All are welcome  and there is a veggie potluck lunch at noon
