Sri Yantra

 

The Sri Yantra
Symbol of God as Mother

The Sri Yantra expresses the powers and emanations of the Mother Goddess and is made up of nine interlocking triangles centered around the "bindu," the central point or deity. The yantra is created by superimposing five down, ward pointing triangles, representing Shiva and four upward pointing tri, angles, representing Shakti. The Sri Yantra depicts the universe and symbol, izes the various stages of Shakti's manifestation. It represents the levels of the earthly and celestial universe as well as the stages in the development of the aspirant's consciousness in the path to enlightenment.
