BEFORE
TAKING THE INTERFAITH MINISTRY PROGRAM, IT IS REQUIRED TO
TAKE...the 9-month
Interfaith World Religions Certification Course to
become an Interfaith Minister-one must understand the calling;
therefore it is a two year program equipping one to serve
with conviction and experience. Interfaith ordination meets
the need of those in our society who feel called to ministry,
but who do not find traditional seminary programs to be spiritually
correct for them. Open to women and men of all professions
and faith traditions, the program is designed to: enrich the
intellectual life through scholarly study; deepen the spiritual
life through contemplative practices; and prepare individuals
for service in the community. Emphasizing peer spiritual leadership
and small faith community, Interfaith Ministers have the rights
and privileges of Clergy of all denominations as they
may: conduct worship services and prayer groups, provide spiritual
guidance, serve in hospitals, prison chaplaincies, health
care, nursing homes, schools, perform weddings, baptisms,
funerals, lead retreats, work in crisis, advocacy and critical
care and serve the needs of a world community.
